"And this is how we call it a comeback..."
Damn if you gentlemen don't have me poring and re-poring over every issue with this series. Loving the intersections thing: revisiting *that* moment in Issue One was totally grin-inducing awesome.
But the B-Sides... Being the slow yet analytical person I am it's nice to have something quick yet subtle to digest a few times before I really get my head round it.
I'm going to leave you alone now...

Just hope the next wait isn't as painfully long. Want more Laura before I pass away.
"Nobody Said It Was Going To Be Easy..."
Ugh, another week where it's not on the release list, another scrabble over here to check and... sadness.

Was looking for this in the comics shop the other friday cus I reckoned it should be out but noticed you hadn't been pimping it.
Yeah, gonna echo the wtf sentiment.
I was totally under the impression this was a guaranteed seller, and it doesn't sound like it's doing badly at all, but... comics business model sounds more'n a little wacky.I guess I'd better brave it and put down a preorder for PG then...

"And Then It Comes To Me - That Every Single Line Means Something..."
Oh, also, cus I'm one of those people who can't let it lie at one post.
...Since I bought the trade (which was a whole different experience to the singles) and discussed it a coupla times with some of my closest friends (somewhere in this process, my opinions on what it was about and how it related to me changed VASTLY) I can't get it out of my head.I find myself thinking something about a song or a person and thinking "ick, that's so KOHL" or just straight-out playing with my ideas about music.
This wasn't present before.
You are clearly a wanker.Love,

Got another one into it this weekend, though with him I'm really not surprised (into the same music as me, big reader)
So... you're pretty much steamrollering through my friends.
Expect a crowd next con.
I try to avoid posting here and looking like the sad-nothing-to-do-but-check-all-the-blogs-I-know-of git that I am, but...
My mate just picked up my Phonogram trade, asking what was with the crazy cover. For future reference, this my friend who doesn't read. Books, comics, nothing. Nor is he big into music, he likes a bit of cheesy pop and some rap. Definitely not your hardcore indie/pop fan.
He flicks through, making the odd jab and observation. "They can put boobs in comics?"...As I type this, he's reading it, not saying a word, not putting it down.
I have a shower, play some games, surf the web, he's still reading. An hour or so later and he puts it down. "That was really good. I'm not big into the britpop thing but that had a really good story."
It was actually a beautiful moment.

Congrats. You had him flicking through my stack of Amazon ordered books- another success for Team Phonogram?
"It's not your fault you're the living dead, coz you were taught just to nod your head..."
(That scary idea applies to Kohl too I guess, but I don't relate to Kohl in that way. He's just the epitomy of all that nastiness in me that I'm too shy to let go. Thank God.)
...A whole post in brackets.

I really need to sober up. It's been three days solid now.
That Livejournal one scares me because they don't think music matters anymore, and until that they sounded like me.
...Still, nothing is as scary as Gillen's gonads.
Also, why can I not stop visiting this site?

I wish I could quit you!
"What I really want to know... is what exactly do you do for an encore"
Just watched that 7 Ages of Rock BBC thing on British Indie and... Phonogram is inescapable.
You bastards. It's really happening, though, this simplifying of Britpop to make it digestible myth. Half an hour of Blur vs Oasis, Pulp did not even get a mention. I briefly forgot the Manics even existed...

It's just occurred to me that it's a pity this is a softcover.
Otherwise you'd have be able to title it "This is Hardcover"....I'm so funny.
