Back from San Diego and inching back into life. Kieron got broken by having to run off to another conference and Jamie got broken by finishing his art for the forthcoming videogame Kudos 2. And then we went out to Poptimism last night, and just got broken for the hell of it.

Main thing to debut at San Diego was the postcard, our one-sheet intro to Phonogram 2: The Singles Club. You may have seen it in Lying In The Gutters , as we kinda leaked it accidentally-on-purpose to Rich, but you may not have. And if you haven’t, let’s put that right, right now:

Click to make bigger. And, please, distribute the hell out of it, wherever you think people who may be interested are around. Which we know some of you have done already, and we salute you as brave and oddly beautiful people.

In other news, Kieron’s first work for Marvel came out this week. It’s called newuniversal: 1959 and is kind of a James-Ellroy-does-Superheroes one-issue stand-alone spin-off of Mr Ellis’ newuniversal. People seem to like it.

Oh - and those who couldn’t get to San Diego will be pleased to hear that we didn’t actually sell out of the T-shirts, and we have some left. We’ll be sorting out mail order options in the next couple of weeks and update here when we know. They look terribly splendid. Other forthcoming phonodistractions include us actually making our Image forum a fun place to hang out and possibly a moment-by-moment record of Kieron’s unbearding. Or maybe not.

When is it coming out?!? I need to find a way to get it since the comicbook stores here in the Philippines require me to have at least 10 comicbook orders per month to get special orders. ~_~ Phonogram is one of the few comicbooks worth reading. For me, at least. If there are any Pinoy fans here with an idea or has a way, let me know. I’d sell my soul to complete this (if I still had it). ^_^

It’s coming out in December and man! You’ve a task ahead of you. Comics, eh?

Well, its more than a comicbook but if you’ve been stuck at the office for 52 hours, you have a tendency to just go for the simple words that weakly pop in your head to just get it over with. I’m already going through considerable lengths to find a way to get them. I spent the whole day through the night trying to find a place that can order it for me. How many issues will there be all in all? So I can make arrangements with a prospect that I have right now. ^_^

It’s a good thing that it’ll come out by December, that may hopefully buy me enough time to find a way to acquire it but it kinda sucks that it’ll be out by then since I have to wait so long to read it. ~_~

But, it’s all aces since it’s Phonogram. It’s more than a comicbook to me. So much more. Cliche’ as it may sound… It changed my life, reading it over and over again takes away the drudgery and annoyance of my everyday life. ^_^

Sorry about the delay in the replay - they’ll be seven issues, monthly. It hasn’t been solicited yet, so they won’t be able to actually order it, but that’s the length. We’re definitely warning people ahead of time.

And thankyou. I hope you like the next one as much.

Ooh, I like the little Chynna Clugston-style angry-manga-dude in the corner. Zoop zoop.

I just finished reading your comic (a little late, yah?) and I was just about unconscious with happiness the entire time, when I wasn’t rushing to pull a too-long-neglected CD out of my CD binders. A comics nerd friend of mine turned me on to it after guessing I might like the music stuff referred to in it. He IMed me, told me about the magic bit, then mentioned a few bands referenced in the comic. “Have you ever heard of the bands ‘Kenickie’ or ‘My Life Story’?” I pretty much levitated right out of my chair. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
