Comment by daniel 05.23.06 @ 1:33 pmPage 4: the sneer at the Coldplay Poster. PRICELESS!
Yes. I think I shall buy this.
Comment by Chris 05.23.06 @ 1:36 pmDaniel: It only hits the streets on August 2nd, but your lovely local comics shop is able to order it from (checks watch) today.

Comment by kieron.gillen 05.23.06 @ 2:25 pmOk, that may have been the best 10 pages I’ve ever read. You’ve got my attention, my dollars, and a plug on my blog. Looking forward to it!
Comment by Jarret 05.24.06 @ 3:35 pmAnd that may be the best 2 line post I’ve ever read, Jarret. Thanks, sir.
Good Top 60 albums of the last six years, randomly. In fact, was at ATP last weekend where I saw the Shins and the Decemberists. And TV On The Radio the week before. Life is awesome!

Comment by Kieron Gillen 05.25.06 @ 4:44 amAh, yes. Most definitely I shall purchase this.
Boy, between this and All-Star Superman I may get in the habit of buying actual issues again…
Comment by Geoffrey D. Wessel 05.27.06 @ 7:14 amIm dumbstruck by the giant superman ‘S’ you guys are parading around in these pages. You do realise DC comics owns Superman right? You do realise DC comics have giant assholic lawyers whose sole purpose on this earth is bushwhack stuff like this?
DC may own your book before it hits the stands.
With that said, god bless you for trying to stick it to them.
Comment by billy thornton 05.28.06 @ 5:28 amImage believe we’ve got a good fair use argument. It’s nothing to do with Superman the comic character, but the pop symbol. It’s not on the cover, and is gone (forever) before the end of the first issue.
But we’ll see.

Comment by kieron.gillen 05.28.06 @ 5:41 amI’m buying this for sure. Hope it sells well so it’s more than just a mini-series.
Comment by C. Johnson 06.01.06 @ 1:44 amI haven’t read a comic in something like ten years, but I plan on buying Phonogram. Great work so far, guys.
Comment by Tony 06.04.06 @ 9:04 amCongratulations. Not only do I want this comic badly I’m also regretting missing Scout Niblett a few months ago. Thanks guys.
Comment by Christian B 07.01.06 @ 6:25 amThis really looks like a great start; snappy artwork perfectly compliments the story & character. Looking forward to the issue’s release. I’m already disappointed that it’s a mini and not a full on series. Only 6? I just know I’ll get into it and want more at the end.
New TV on the Radio record is incredible, by the way. I can’t stop promoting it at every chance…. too good… out in UK in a couple weeks…
Comment by Eric A 07.08.06 @ 8:54 amEric: Thanks, man. If all goes well, we’d like to do a second series of Phonogram. Whlie I doubt we’d ever want to do an ongoing, there’s certainly more minis we’d like to do.
And it’s a great record. I interviewed them a few weeks ago, actually, for Plan B. Phenonemal live.

Pingback by GRABBINGSAND: feel no shame for what you are. » Blog Archive » On Pharmacy and Phonomancy 08.24.06 @ 9:52 amI despise hipsterism. Its a social movement based on being “different” yet its a hypocrisy in action. I saw the art on the home page and I shuttered. Hipster nazis leaning against a brick wall struggling to feel cool. Then I checked out the preview……when it was over I wanted more! The dialogue was superb (although pretentious in that hipster way). I didn’t care about that because the characterization was truly solid.
I have to know what happens next. I’m picking a copy up today.
Comment by Ricki-O 09.14.06 @ 4:00 pm[…] Everyone, but especially, you, Elad needs to get thee hence to a comic shop and buy Phonogram 1-3 (Image comics; Gillen and McKelvie, 2007). I suppose you could check out the preview first. […]

Jamie Drawing?
Girls?
I will buy this. It pushes all of my buttons, even the really big yellow ones that say “Do not press until June 5th 2047″ See? that’s Button pushing at its finest.
Seriously though, Tiptop stuff. Gogogo!
