Phonogram is - according to all good shipping lists - coming out this week. There’s a problem with Diamond shipping to the west coast of the US, which means people over there may have to wait until the week after. Otherwise, the US gets it tomorrow (i.e Wednesday) and the UK get it the day after (i.e. Thursday).
We apologise for the delay.
It looks like this.
Please buy it for yourself and/or friends and/or enemies if you think it’s rubbish and want to spite them.

Bloody hell. I went to pick up a copy in my lunch break and only just managed to snag the last one on the shelves. Word must be spreading.
Comment by Tony 01.11.07 @ 11:41 amAfter a long time of anxious and excited waiting, I can finally get my hands on the latest issue. ^_^
Comment by Koko 01.12.07 @ 4:03 pmPicked up the latest issue on Friday - looks excellent.
btw, if the next issue’s cover doesn’t spawn reams of Gillen/Kohl slash fiction, I shall be very disappointed in the internets.
Comment by marky 01.15.07 @ 2:04 amGot it, read it on the bus this morning.
I can see why you were concerned about this one, it’s a biggie. But even as someone who’s total experience with BRTPP doesn’t go much beyond Blur/Oasis/Suede as I got a lot of enjoyment out of this issue. I’d never even heard of Knebworth but I get the general idea. The fantasy stuff was not too hard, in the context of what has come before.
And for a neophyte like me the b-side stuff is a nice rich, meaty history lesson.
This book needs to be sold in record shops, and not just in collected form. Pop affectionados will absolutly cream themselves over #4. For the rest of us, it’s cool story that touches many important themes, set against the backdrop of Brit Pop.
Comment by Adam W 01.18.07 @ 4:21 pmI left Phonogram flyers in record shops and gig venues as well as the comic shops.
The ones in the record shops went very quickly, to the extent that one of them had to tape the last flyer to the counter.

Comment by Aled 01.19.07 @ 1:11 pmInspired and inspiring… The best comic… nay piece of literature made ever. BritpopBlazer… (which is my user name in most stuff online)
I have 3 copies of each. One to read, the second to be used like a sampler drug to get my friends hooked and the last to just sit there in the centre of my room to be stared at. ^_^
Comment by Koko 01.19.07 @ 9:23 pmFINALLY got my hands on it.
(Every single shop in Birmingham has sold out… or hadn’t got any stock. I prefer the former option.)
Anyway, great issue, really dense.
I look forward to going through it again, lot of confusion… (Not getting, for example, who/what the guide was - about the only thing I needed the Glossary for, which annoyed me ‘cus I was feeling all indie elite ‘n’ stuff)
Great Jarvis cameo (as you promised a while back, I think)
And the Streets like a Jungle line, for some reason, made me laugh pretty hard.
(Oh yeah cus I’m a Britpop-obsessed arrogant little wanker. Still, it’s nice to have a character you can really relate to, eh?)
…Enough babbling.
I loved it. This is all that needs to be said.
Comment by Alex/Daffs 01.23.07 @ 1:15 am(I know that this totally unrelated to Phonogram but I just wanted to share how Britpop saved my life.)
I was walking home last night. It was a humid night. The kind of humid that strangles you like a woman in bed. You want it and hate it at the same time.
Anyway, I had an asthma attack. My throat felt like it closed up and I was choking. The heat really didn’t help.
I was on the verge of panicking majorly. I was looking for a place to buy something to drink but all the stores refused to break my money. They all claimed that they didn’t have any change whatsoever.
I was now feeling the panic creeping up from inside me. Throat blocked, asthma, humidity and thirst.
But then, the weirdest thing happened…
I heard Jarvis Cocker’s voice. He was singing “Disco 2000″. Weirded out and panicked, I did what most Britpop fan would do… Sing along and dance (I sang and danced inside my head, at least). It helped lessen the panic and I calmed down after a while. I’ still alive.
Now,I can say that Britpop (and Jarvis Cocker) saved my life. My life is now mearly complete…
All that I need to do now is to meet Morrissey. ^_^
Comment by Koko 01.27.07 @ 7:11 pmBlimey. Mind if we quote that on a letters page, if there’s room?
