“I CAN’T IMAGINE THE WORLD WITHOUT ME”
Someone won’t let Britannia, sacred Mod-goddess of Britpop, rest in peace. If David Kohl can’t find out whom, his very existence is forfeit. Clues? He hasn’t any until he sees the solemn ghost of an old girlfriend. For David, ghosts are normal. Ghosts of living girls, however, are something very different…”

Update time. Three things!

1) We’re going to be interviewed on the Around Comics podcast tonight. I believe you can listen live if anyone wants to hear what I sound like at 1am trying to talk sense. Kitten, alas, won’t be able to make it as he’s moving house and dying, but I promise to throw enough shit around for the pair of us. Besides: He’s the polite one.
2) Occultists are pissed off with us. Apparently.
3) Well… 3.

Faster

“Comic shops are “different”.A normal bookshop or newsagent sells its books or magazines on what’s called Sale Or Return. That means, perhaps unsurprisingly, that anything they don’t sell they give back to the publisher who have to refund their money. This means that publishers make their money depending on how many copies actually reach the hands of the consumers, with the shop as an intermediary.

Comic shops are, as I mentioned, “different”.”

The handy Phonogram Guide To Buying Comics. It would help us a great deal if you could pre-order Phonogram from your local comic book emporium (or Khepri in the US and Page 45 in the UK for internet orders). Otherwise you run the risk of not being able to find a copy, and we run the risk of dying of starvation in the gutters. And really, who wants that?

So if you could be darlings, and pop along to your shop to order a copy of issue 1 - mentioning the order code JUN06 1681 - that would be fabulous.

Also, it has come to our attention that some generous soul has syndicated this blog on Livejournal, so add Phonogram to your friends list to keep up to date with all our fanciful goings-on.

Phonogram heads off from Image next week, so we’re in final tweak mode. We decide that we /may/, if we shuffle the pages a bit, have room for a letters page. For a project like Phonogram, McKelvie and I have terrible love for the letters page. We like discourse. Also, talking bollocks.

So, we thought we’d see if we can put together a page over the weekend. As – well – why not?

If after reading the preview you had any thoughts you’d like to share, we’d love to hear them.
