“I took her to a supermarket. I don’t know why, but I had to start it somewhere…”
The lovely Chris Arrant interview McKelvie and I over at Newsarama.
Topics covered include what it’s about, how we met, where we got the ideas from and how I’m incapable of answering any question in less than a paragraph.

“I’ll get a guitar and a lover who pays me…”
Time for a little update? Why not.
Firstly, we’ve just posted this in a variety of places online. Let’s do the cut and paste.
“JOIN THE PHONOGRARMY
You may have seen the B-side McKelvie and I released to introduce our Phonogram to the world. Many people have linked to it and passed it around, and this makes us happy. It’s a strange emotion, we’re both unfamiliar with but are enjoying it. It’s a little like being drunk, but cheaper and you look prettier in the morning. We recommend it heartily.
However we’re not happy with our tyranny of a domain that purely exists in 1s and 0s in the mind of a pre-sentient AI in Hamburg.
To that end, I returned from my local printer yesterday with a couple of surprisingly-heavy boxes full of postcards advertising Phonogram, each one sporting the B-side strip. Now we want to get them into the hands of people.
This is where you come in.
While we’re planning to get the postcards to local comic shops directly, for our initial sending out we’d like to stay true to our punky fanzine roots and get other humans involved.
Basically, do you have a local comic shop you enter regularly? Would you be willing to take a small pile of these lovely /objects d’art/ in and ask the proprietor to have on the counter? Do you wish to join arms in a grand fraternity of Phonogam and chant to our dark and nameless Gods?
If the answers to all of the above are yes, drop me a line at Kieron dot Gillen at Gmail dot com and I’ll get the little parcel in the post to you.
One exception: Since I’m based around Bath and Bristol and Jamie’s based in London, we’ve got those particular areas covered. Though if you live there and want to drop us a line anyway, don’t let that stop you. We like e-mail. It makes us happy, which is a little like being dru… have I mentioned that?
And before we leave, now would be a good time to mention the Media page we’ve just set up on the website, which includes some terribly high resolution files suitable for printing out, having blu-tack pushed onto the back and turned into some manner of poster for the better class of vertical surface.
Phonogram: Covering awkward cracks and patches of damp on walls since May 2006.
Thanks for listening.

Hurrah for efficient cross-posting. But, just to stress that the people who actually come to us are our VERY FAVOURITEST in the whole world, here’s a quick look at what the cover to issue one looks like right now.

Everyone else would have had to follow another link off the Media page to see that. We think of your clicking fingers.
